Badachu is called Bādàchǔ, in Chinese.
The name Badachu means “eight great sites” and that refers to the eight Buddhist temples located in the area, which consists of three high hills called Cuiwei, Pingpo and Lushi.
Badachu is a nice place to visit and in the summer it is much cooler there, thanks to the altitude, so many go there to escape the worst heat of the city for a while. The park also has a lot of very old trees, some are as much as 600 years old and still in good condition.
It is possible to walk between all the temples, and there is also a cable that goes to the top. However, it is not too high so an average trained person can easily manage to walk up himself.
Badachu is known to look very beautiful in the autumn when the leaves are becoming red.
Badachu is located in the western outskirts of the city, and the easiest way to get there is to take the subway to Pingguoyuan and then a short taxi ride a few kilometers to Badachu.
